Juno

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 7 years

Hello, I'm the beautiful Juno. Do you still remember me? My four kittens and I were saved last year with a cat trap and taken to the animal shelter. My "little ones" have long since moved out and all found wonderful homes. Only I am still here waiting for my soulmates. I thought I'd take this time to give you a little update because a lot has changed for me! When I first arrived at the shelter, I was very shy and frightened. When the caretakers or visitors were in the room, I immediately hid and sought shelter in one of the scratching posts or cat houses. I was never seen - I was practically a ghost. But that has changed a lot now - I've become much braver and find two-legged beings quite interesting. I like to lie on elevated places and watch visitors and caretakers as they go about their business. When treats are being handed out, I'm right there and then actually come close. I still don't like to be petted, but maybe that will change with time and patience. I'm very social with other cats here in the cat house and would be perfect as a second cat. Oh yes, since I originally came from outside, free roaming is very important for me. After getting used to the shelter, I really want to feel a fresh breeze around my whiskers again and walk through the grass. That's best done if you live in a more rural and quiet area. You have patience, understanding, and a big heart for cats that need time to thaw out? Then feel free to make an appointment to meet my caretakers, maybe you're exactly the right person for me! Until then, I'm waiting here. Your Juno.

Eure Juno

About Juno

What life with Juno looks like

Juno is a large adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. in Remagen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Juno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Juno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Juno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Juno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Juno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Juno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Juno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
