Adopt Juno

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 10 years

Juno has a potential home lined up. Whilst she remains in our care, we continue to welcome applications. Juno could live with children aged 10+. She would like to be the only animal in the home and will require outdoor access. Juno is a very sweet and affectionate little lady who is often waiting on her cat tree at the front of her pen for someone to come and say hello to her! She absolutely loves spending time with her humans, she is incredibly loving and will even paw at you for attention, or if you stop stroking her before she is ready! She can be a little shy initially and will hide when unsure, but is quick to come round – it didn’t take her long to settle in here at the shelter and make friends with all our staff and volunteers. She also has a playful side and particularly enjoys engaging with wand toys. Juno has previously lived with another cat and a dog but found this very stressful and so she would like a home with no other animals. We don’t have much background information on Juno but we know she has previously spent some time as a stray. She arrived into our care in poor condition, underweight with scabby skin and needing numerous teeth removed. Despite the tough time this little lady has had, she still has so much love to give to her humans – all she wants is to be loved in return. You can’t help but fall in love with Juno as soon as you meet her. She is the most adorable girl and has the personality to match. We may not know much about her story up until now, but we do know that she can now put her days of neglect well and truly behind her. She so deserves to finally know the love, care and security of a forever family who will spoil her rotten and return all of her love and affection. This wonderful little soul has been an absolute pleasure to care for and get to know during her stay with us, we can’t wait to see her finally living the life she deserves in her forever home. Juno required medication for her skin when she first arrived in our care. Whilst now resolved and no further treatment is currently needed, any potential rehomers should be aware that, if she were to develop any future issues with her skin, these would likely be classed as a pre-existing condition and won’t be covered by pet insurance. The rehoming team will discuss Juno’s veterinary history in further detail with any successful applicants.

About Juno

What life with Juno looks like

Juno is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter in Newcastle.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Juno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Juno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Juno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Juno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Juno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Juno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Juno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
