adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Jusper can stay! His story: 65618 Selters (Taunus). The beautiful Jusper with the colorful fur is looking for a new home. Unfortunately, he has to leave his family, where he has lived since the end of 2022, due to personal reasons. Jusper is very well leash-trained and house-trained and loves to lie in the garden or to be outside in the courtyard, observing everything. He is rather quiet and hardly ever barks. He also enjoys car rides and shows no problems with them. Jusper is initially a bit shy around unfamiliar dogs and prefers to give them a wide berth at first. But once he gets to know them better, he also plays sometimes and is happy to have company. Only very pushy dogs are not to his liking. As he shows a prey drive, Jusper should not be introduced to cats or small animals. Stable structures and a regulated daily routine suit Jusper very well. He likes recurring routines and habits, as they give him a sense of security. Originally, Jusper came from the public shelter Bistrita, Romania. He suffered greatly in the cramped, noisy, and dirty cage. Jusper was brought to the shelter by the Dog Catchers and was initially very afraid and completely overwhelmed by the entire situation. Jusper is currently around 4 years old and has a shoulder height of about 53 cm, making him a medium-sized dog. Jusper is beautiful and has a very noticeable, wonderful fur pattern in various beige, gray, and brown tones. A real looker! It could be that Jusper is a mix of a hunting dog. Positive reinforcement dog training and loving consequences will help form a strong team. Children living in the household should already be older and know how to respectfully handle dogs. Jusper will surely also enjoy dog sports like, for example, agility or mantrailing. Jusper is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Of course, he also has the EU pet passport. Against an adoption fee of 450 Euros and after a positive assessment, Jusper is looking forward to finally finding his own people. Do you give your heart and a loving home to Jusper? Many thanks Elke! You gave Jusper his name!. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jusper darf bleiben! Vielen Dank Elke! Du hast Jusper seinen Namen geschenkt!

About Jusper

What life with Jusper looks like

Jusper is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jusper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jusper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jusper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jusper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jusper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jusper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jusper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
