Kajla-5

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Origin Country: Hungary Kajla, the pretty one, arrived at the animal shelter on February 15, 2026, as a surrender dog. The exact reasons for the surrender are unknown, but it seems to be due to changed living circumstances. One must be grateful that the dogs are brought to the animal shelter and not abandoned somewhere or killed. Despite this, the loss of her people and familiar surroundings was a shock for Kajla, as evidenced by the arrival photos. We hope that the Menhely for Kajla is only a short stopover and that she will soon be able to claim her ticket to a new, loving home where she will be loved and cared for for the rest of her life. Kajla has fortunately settled in and is trying to make the best of her new situation. She is a friendly, loving, and kind female dog, a bit shy at first in the first few minutes, but when she realizes that you mean her well, she warms up. She likes people and is overjoyed by any form of affection, having a lot of catch-up to do and not wanting to miss out again. She is an intelligent and eager-to-learn four-legged friend and will surely be happy and enthusiastic about learning everything from the doggie ABCs with her new two-legged family, as she is still quite green behind the ears. Walking on the leash is already going quite well, though it is certainly still expandable. She would also be happy for both mental and physical stimulation, of course, once she has settled in. She wants to make up for all that she has missed and enjoy many beautiful moments with her new people. Kajla gets along well with her fellow animals and lives in a mixed pack. For our beloved Kajla, we are looking for loving and enthusiastic dog lovers who can give Kajla a wonderful life as a beloved family dog. Kajla deserves the chance to move to a family and make up for everything she would love to learn: dog training classes, fun and varied walks, appropriate stimulation, love, care, and 100% family integration. Whom can Kajla trust with her trust? On April 6, 2026, a voluntary, Hungarian helper writes: "Kajla arrived in the care of the animal shelter in February 2026, having been surrendered by her owner. In April, we met her on the mentor day at the animal shelter. Kajla is a loving and friendly female dog. She is very people-oriented, cuddly, and likes to give kisses. She sought out closeness and actively demanded cuddles and affection, enjoying them very much. She was visibly happy that the mentors were paying attention to her and taking care of her. Kajla is an open, attentive, and curious female dog who has shown herself to be comfortable and happy on the mentor day. She lives in a pen with several other dogs and has integrated well into the group. She can be led on a leash. Kajla wants to return to a home and a family as quickly as possible, as she misses her former home and the closeness to people very much. She had already had a family and is a well-socialized female dog. She loves to ride in the car and jumps independently into the transport box. It is clear that she was given a lot of attention in the past." Unfortunately, the following was diagnosed in Kajla: A trauma of the left hip joint is assumed. Severe deformative osteoarthritis of the femoral head and acetabulum. The specialist in Budapest examined the X-ray and the gait videos of Kajla. His opinion: As long as she can move pain-free, no operation is necessary. According to the videos, she does not show any obvious pain and moves freely. Of course, this must be monitored closely. Kajla is ready for travel.

About Kajla-5

What life with Kajla-5 looks like

Kajla-5 is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kajla-5, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kajla-5?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kajla-5 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kajla-5 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kajla-5 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kajla-5 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kajla-5 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
