adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Kalli has found his own home! His story: Kalli is doing well in his foster home, a remarkably open and friendly dog he is. And yet, despite having grown up in the shelter in Baia Mare, and becoming a long-term resident there due to a lack of inquiries at a young age, what a shame for the handsome male dog, missing out on his youth! From the first day in his foster home, Kalli tried to smoothly integrate into family life and learn what a family dog should be able to do to make life as pleasant and harmonious as possible. He is happy to model himself after the first dog. Kalli likes other dogs and can therefore be rehomed to additional dogs. Within two weeks, Kalli shows house-training and is leash-trained. The handsome, manageable male dog enjoys going for walks and is curious to learn everything he could not learn in his previous, bleak life. He also rides in the car without any problems. In the presence of the first dog, Kalli has already learned to be relaxed and alone for a short time. We are looking for a home for Kalli with people who would like to have him as a beloved companion by their side, who enjoy walks and shared activities. Working with Kalli using a positive reinforcement training style to learn the dog ABCs would strengthen the bond and could bring joy, with a visit to dog training classes being very helpful. Kalli is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has an EU pet passport and is ready to go home after a positive Kalli is eagerly waiting for his family. Thank you! Kyra S.! Thanks to you, Kalli has his beautiful name and thus a chance to find his family! Date: 19.02. This animal is house-trained.

Stand: 19.02.2025

About Kalli

What life with Kalli looks like

Kalli is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kalli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kalli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kalli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kalli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kalli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kalli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kalli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
