Kamila

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Kamila is a fantastic herding dog lady residing in our partner shelter Hogar de Asis, where she awaits a home with heart and understanding for a large dog. Originally, we rescued her from a Perrera, where she, like most herding dogs, had to wait a long time before being taken in by an animal shelter. This one was Hogar de Asis in November 2025. Kamila is full of joy, which she can share with her friends Amour and Eliot. The three giants live together in a pen and are allowed to patrol a part of the shelter grounds at night. Kamila, Eliot, and Amour love playing together, patrolling the grounds, sniffing every nook and cranny, or simply lying lazily at a scenic lookout point, observing their surroundings. As you can see in the videos below, Kamila is also practiced in dealing with smaller dogs. She is not intimidated or fazed by a wild commotion around her. In her new home, she can already have an only dog or a small group. At our animal shelter, Kamila does not share her food, so she is fed separately. For a herdi, she runs surprisingly well and calmly on the leash. Many do not and lie down with the harness and leash like a stone, but Kamila walks properly. One should, however, have some strength, as she can also be curious at times. 😉 At our animal shelter, Kamila has seamlessly integrated into daily life. She knows the routines and does not stand out negatively. However, this should not be her final destination, so we are searching for a home for this lovely lady, preferably with a garden or property. Since herding dogs are very pack-oriented, we would like her to have a family connection and to be allowed into the house.

DE·Show original

About Kamila

What life with Kamila looks like

Kamila is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kamila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kamila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kamila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kamila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kamila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kamila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kamila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
