Kanarianvögel

Unknown

Two canaries, probably two females, are looking for a new, species-appropriate home together. We would like to place the two canaries exclusively in a setting that meets their natural needs. We are therefore looking for a home with enough space to fly, ideally a spacious aviary or other suitable bird housing, where the two can become part of an existing canary flock. A single-bird or permanent housing without suitable conspecifics is not an option for us. Canaries are active birds that need enough flying space, stimulation and social contact. That's why we would like the two to find a home with people who are familiar with the species-appropriate keeping of canaries or are willing to learn about their needs. At a glance: 🐦 2 canaries 🐦 probably both female 🐦

About Kanarianvögel

What life with Kanarianvögel looks like

Kanarianvögel is a large adult bird waiting at Tierheim Ludwigshafen in Ludwigshafen/Rheim.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kanarianvögel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kanarianvögel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ludwigshafen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kanarianvögel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kanarianvögel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ludwigshafen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kanarianvögel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most birds on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kanarianvögel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ludwigshafen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kanarianvögel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
