Adopt Kaninunger

Mixed Breed · Female

Five small charming pelsdotter are looking for a home 🐰❤️ On March 28, something that fortunately doesn't happen too often at the animal welfare organization Norge Oslo and Akershus occurred. The recently arrived rabbit Felicia suddenly gave birth to five small, lovely Kaninunger in a foster home. Fortunately, they were all fresh and fine from the start. Now they have grown big, strong, and full of personality. These are active, cute, and independent little beings who love to explore the world around them. In the foster home, they show daily how happy they are through impressive amounts of binkys and zoomies for the big gold medal 💨✨ They get very happy to have humans around and are very curious. You don't need to worry about doing cleaning work alone, they stand by you and quality-check everything you do. Feel free to hop high or in your arms. We have three girls and two boys who are now ready to find their own forever homes. They can be adopted individually or together with a sibling. All are health-checked and vaccinated against RHD. If they are adopted out before they are old enough for neutering, DOOA covers the costs for both neutering and ID tagging.

About Kaninunger

What life with Kaninunger looks like

Kaninunger is a large adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo in Oslo.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kaninunger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kaninunger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kaninunger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kaninunger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kaninunger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kaninunger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kaninunger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
