Kapral

Male · Senior · 14 years

We are scratching our heads, wondering how it happened that such a beautiful and social Kapral ended up in an animal shelter 🤔 He has a fluffy and shiny coat. He doesn't complain about being underweight, and maybe he could stand to lose a couple of pounds 🙃 He can communicate with people, sits on command, does great on a leash and knows what treats are, sometimes even annoyingly demanding them... He keeps his box clean. He was surely important to someone. The mystery will probably remain unsolved, but we have the chance to watch how well Kapral is handling this situation. This dog is strength - not only in body but also in personality. He quickly adapted to his new "home" and built a bond with the human walking companions 💚 With passion he hunts cats and other dogs 😱, he definitely should be an only dog. The guy loves walks. He exits the box with bounces, likes to sniff around, but most of all to run ahead, and then he becomes a big ball of joy and unspent energy 😊 He is an amazing dog for active people, capable of handling strong giants 😃 Kapral is very flexible and gladly cooperates.

About Kapral

What life with Kapral looks like

Kapral is a large senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kapral, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kapral?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kapral on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kapral if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kapral already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kapral isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kapral and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
