Kara

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Kara Rasse: Mix Age: born 11.06.2024 Size: approx. 55-60cm Weight: approx. 20-25 Kg Neutered: Yes other dogs? Yes children? Does not know cats? Must be tested Mediterranean test? Negative! Before departure an up-to-date test will be made. Location: Shelter (K) Kara - an active female with a calm nature 🐾 Kara is a very special female: people-oriented, friendly and pleasantly calm, but also sporty and active. She loves spending time with her humans and likes to orientate herself towards them. Although Kara likes to be out and about and enjoys varied activities, she is a calm and balanced female by nature. She does not just want to follow, but likes to be encouraged and engaged. She needs no hectic or over-excited home. What is more important are people who give her security, like to work with her and at the same time give her the necessary rest and time. Before the journey to the new home, X-rays will be taken on request, for a fee, to ensure that all joints are in order. The fee is determined by the number of X-rays. Kara Rasse: Mischling Alter: geb. 11.06.2024 Größe: ca. 55-60cm Gewicht: ca. 20-25 Kg Kastriert: Ja andere Hunde? Ja Kinder? Kennt sie nicht Katzen? Muss getestet werden Mittelmeertest? Negativ!

About Kara

What life with Kara looks like

Kara is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
