adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Karlie is a little treasure who always wants to be very close to his people. He is particularly clingy, enjoys every form of affection, and could spend hours lying on his back for his belly to be rubbed. A true lover and cuddler. The sweet puppy is about 4 months old and is currently the smallest and most delicate among his siblings, measuring approximately 41 cm. He is expected to grow to a medium size. He looks simply adorable with his beige-black fur and loving round eyes. His start in life was unfortunately not easy: born together with his siblings Hatschipuh, Eddy, and Luan on a farm, where the puppies were not allowed to stay. Fortunately, they were rescued in time and now live safely in a foster home in Romania. Karlie shows himself there as a very friendly and social dog who gets along well with fellow animals and is also open to cats. However, he would rather spend his time with people – preferably with lots and lots of cuddles. Loving people are sought for Karlie, who will give him security and show him the world step by step. Patience, time, and lots of affection are exactly what he needs. Then, even the challenging time of puberty can be mastered. Attending dog training classes based on positive reinforcement would also be a beautiful support for him. Perhaps Karlie has some herding dog traits, which would make a quiet, rural home a good fit for him. These dogs are particularly loyal, vigilant, and often make their own decisions. Experience would be nice, but more important is the willingness to deal with the special needs of these dogs. Karlie is ready to start his new life right now. He travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and with an EU pet passport. Even a foster home would be very welcome for him. Many thanks Gabriele J.! You gave Karlie his name! Date: 21.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Gabriele J.! Du hast Karlie seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 21.04.2026

About Karlie

What life with Karlie looks like

Karlie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karlie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karlie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karlie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karlie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karlie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karlie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karlie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
