Karmel

Male · Senior · 10 years

Karmel is just getting to know the shelter reality and starting a new stage of his life. He's a very friendly, gentle and calm dog. He enjoys going for walks, and each one is a great adventure for him. With great interest he sniffs, looks into every nook and cranny and discovers new surroundings. It can be seen that he is curious and takes joy in every moment outside the box. Karmel is also friendly towards other dogs. He is not yet neutered, so he may be a bit too pushy when getting to know them, but after the procedure it will certainly be easier for him to find his place among dog companions. We have a feeling that Karmel has yet to show how wonderful of a dog he is. He just needs a little time to feel safe and fully open up. We believe that he will become a wonderful human companion, and after neutering also a great companion for a canine household member. Maybe there's room for him at your place? ❤️

PL·Show original

Karmel dopiero poznaje schroniskową rzeczywistość i rozpoczyna nowy etap swojego życia. ❤️

About Karmel

What life with Karmel looks like

Karmel is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karmel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karmel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karmel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karmel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karmel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karmel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karmel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
