Adopt Kättel Feierdach

European Shorthair · Female

Kättel Feierdach was found in a really bad phase of a rolliness at a stud farm, but had to be caught using a live trap. We quickly realize that Kättel probably hasn't had such great experiences with people. She hisses at the first sight, but is happy to be petted. She talks a lot to us, but then all of a sudden, she extends her claws and creates blood graffiti. We still have hope that this special effect will subside with the reduction of her hormone levels, as she has been neutered recently. For the past few days, she has also shared a room with another cat, which is currently working out well—she just doesn't seek any closeness with the other cat. Even with the cat flap open, Mrs. Feierdach does not want to go outside for a quick breath of fresh air. We are looking for a very experienced new home for her, where she will be accepted as she is. But we are also confident that she will eventually trust her person and stop the "bloodbath." (The first vaccination with us went without a drop of human blood being spilled.)

About Kättel Feierdach

What life with Kättel Feierdach looks like

Kättel Feierdach is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Frankenthal in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kättel Feierdach, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kättel Feierdach?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Frankenthal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kättel Feierdach on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kättel Feierdach if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Frankenthal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kättel Feierdach already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kättel Feierdach isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Frankenthal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kättel Feierdach and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
