They learn important social skills by playing, fighting, hunting and cuddling together. A person can offer as much time, love and occupation as he wants - he can not replace a suitable cat friend. Therefore, our kittens either move to an existing, suitable young conspecific or together with another kitten from our cat house or one of our foster homes. Small cats - big demands As cute as kittens are: they mean work, time and responsibility. They want to play, climb, discover and be busy. Sometimes something breaks, curtains become a climbing frame and at night it is not necessarily bedtime. Who adopts kittens should be aware that the little fur balls become active cats with individual needs - and that one takes over the responsibility for many years together. In addition to a species-appropriate keeping, good care, veterinary care, vaccinations and of course also the timely castration are included. Kleine Wirbelwinde, neugierige Entdecker und verschmuste Mini-Tiger, alle mit ihrem ganz eigenen Charakter und mit jeder Menge Flausen im Kopf. Kitten gibt es bei uns nicht allein Uns ist besonders wichtig: Katzenkinder vermitteln wir grundsätzlich nicht in Einzelhaltung. Kitten brauchen für eine gesunde Entwicklung den Kontakt zu Artgenossen. Beim gemeinsamen Spielen, Raufen, Jagen und Kuscheln lernen sie wichtige soziale Fähigkeiten. Ein Mensch kann noch so viel Zeit, Liebe und Beschäftigung bieten – einen passenden Katzenfreund kann er nicht ersetzen. Deshalb ziehen unsere Katzenkinder entweder zu einem bereits vorhandenen, passenden jungen Artgenossen oder gemeinsam mit einem weiteren Kitten aus unserem Katzenhaus bzw. einer unserer Pflegestellen aus. Kleine Katzen – große Ansprüche So niedlich Katzenkinder auch sind: Sie bedeuten Arbeit, Zeit und Verantwortung. Sie möchten spielen, klettern, entdecken und beschäftigt werden. Dabei geht auch mal etwas zu Bruch, Vorhänge werden zum Klettergerüst und nachts ist nicht unbedingt Schlafenszeit. Wer Kitten adoptiert, sollte sich bewusst sein, dass aus den kleinen Fellknäueln aktive Katzen mit individuellen Bedürfnissen werden – und dass man die Verantwortung für viele gemeinsame Jahre übernimmt. Neben einer artgerechten Haltung gehören eine gute Versorgung, tierärztliche Betreuung, Impfungen und natürlich auch die rechtzeitige Kastration dazu. Kastration gehört für uns zur Verantwortung Wir möchten ausdrücklich verhindern, dass sich Katzen unkontrolliert weiter vermehren. Die Tierheime und Pflegestellen sind bereits jedes Jahr mit einer großen Zahl ungewollter Katzen und Katzenkinder konfrontiert. Wer ein Katzenkind von uns adoptiert, übernimmt deshalb auch die Verantwortung, es zum entsprechenden Zeitpunkt kastrieren zu lassen. Nachwuchs „nur einmal“ oder eine spätere Vermehrung unserer vermittelten Tiere kommt für uns nicht infrage.
