Kayde

Female · Puppy · 18 months

Kayde the GSD cross/German Shepherd cross is available for adoption at Pawprints Dog Rescue in the Midlands. Kayde with ears as big as her heart… both are simply impossible not to fall in love with. Kayde is a playful, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent young dog looking for an active home. Her favourite things are playtime and long walks. She would make a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys training. Kayde loves learning new things and picks up new skills quickly, making her a joy to work with. While she needs an active home, after a walk Kayde will be happy to curl up on the sofa for a cuddle and a well-earned nap. She would love a home where someone is around for most of the day, as she enjoys having company. She is currently comfortable being left for a few hours in her crate, and with patience this could continue to be built up. Kayde could potentially live with another dog following successful introductions. On lead, she can sometimes become frustrated when she sees dogs she’d like to greet, which can result in some reactive behaviour, but has been making great progress with positive training and is learning to stay calm in these situations. Her current training will be shared with her new family so they can continue with it. She has also been learning to walk nicely on the lead, although like many young dogs she can occasionally become distracted by exciting things around her. Kayde could live with sensible secondary school aged children who are confident around larger dogs, due to being an enthusiastic young dog, she can occasionally jump up when she’s excited, so any children in the home should be comfortable with this while she continues to learn polite greetings. Kayde is a wonderful, loving dog with so much potential. She’s looking for a committed family who will continue her training, include her in their adventures, and give her all the love and companionship she deserves.

About Kayde

What life with Kayde looks like

Kayde is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at Pawprints Dog Rescue in Stretton-on-Dunsmore.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kayde, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kayde?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pawprints Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kayde on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kayde if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pawprints Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kayde already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kayde isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pawprints Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kayde and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
