Marble

Presa Canario · Female

Marble is a beautiful female Presa Canario available for adoption at Pawprints Dog Rescue in the Midlands – and has been waiting patiently for quite some time to find her perfect home. She is a firm favourite with both staff and volunteers, and once she knows and trusts you, she is an incredibly affectionate, cuddly girl who absolutely loves attention and being close to her people. She is super playful and as the people that know her best, we have endless fun and know just how amazing she can be. Marble does need a very specific home and is not suitable for everyone. She can be worried when meeting new people, particularly when they enter her home or personal space. She is comfortable walking around strangers and does not have an issue simply passing people out and about, but she does not want unfamiliar people entering her personal space. Due to this Marble requires an adult only household with no visiting children. Her adopters must be experienced and confident with large, strong breeds and be willing to continuing her training. A home with a quiet, predictable routine would suit Marble best. Ideally, she would have access to a dedicated safe space or room within the home where she can retreat and decompress when she needs some time away from visitors, activity or other stressors. Marble is muzzle trained and wears her muzzle when visiting the vets. Marble can socialise with other dogs and enjoys their company, although she can be very OTT in her play style! She has previously walked with various size and breeds and enjoys going for long walks in the countryside where she can explore and sniff as much as she likes. Marble walks very well on the lead but when she gets excited can be strong. For the right person, Marble has so much to offer, she is such an affectionate girl who adores the people she knows and trusts. Marble will need multiple visits so needs a family willing to travel and spend the time to build a relationship before we then also start doing home visits to help her transition into home life after being in kennels the time she has.

About Marble

What life with Marble looks like

Marble is a large adult presa canario dog waiting at Pawprints Dog Rescue in Stretton-on-Dunsmore.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marble, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marble?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pawprints Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marble on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marble if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pawprints Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Marble already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marble isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pawprints Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marble and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
