Keisha

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Senior Β· 12 years

Very little is known about darling Keisha save that she arrived at Dogs Trust, Merseyside at the grand old age of 12yrs as a stray and now needs a warm and comfortable retirement home where she can be thoroughly spoilt. Keisha is described as gentle and easy going. She would suit a home either as an only dog or with another calm dog of similar low energy that would be her bestie, as well of course as her humans. Keisha could live with older calm and respectful young people. She isn't as overly cuddly dog but will greet you happily when you come home, a little stroke and then will take herself off for a nap. She is an independent lady ! Keisha walks nicely on her lead, she's not a fan of the harness, and likes to stop and stare up people's driveways when she's out walking- is she looking for new doggy chums or being the neighbourhood security consultant ! Friendly towards other dogs when out walking and will stop to say hello and then carry on. She has an adorable cheeky side, enjoys zoomies in the garden and will play catch in the hope of a treat to bride her back – she is a very bright girl. She is house trained and good when left by herself for a few hours. Keisha is currently on pain relief for a sore hip and, given her age, may need this for the rest of her life. She's also a little hard of hearing. At 12 yrs old sweet Keisha needs a comfy sofa, plentiful treats and lots of love – are you what Keisha is looking for ? If you can offer Keisha a loving forever home, please contact Dogs Trust Merseyside as follows: Apply: via their website – click here or Ext.1068 (Reception) – Monday-Friday Please mention that you saw Keisha on Oldies Club website.

About Keisha

What life with Keisha looks like

Keisha is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Keisha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Keisha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Keisha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Keisha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Keisha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Keisha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Keisha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
