adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! Kemal has found a home! Kemal can travel to his foster home in early March! His story: Onesti, Romania. Little Kemal wants to go on a big trip because somewhere out there, his two-legged family is waiting for him, just needing to find him. Sometimes destiny is on the side of the smallest furballs, and that's also the case for him. Because the sweet, approximately 9-month-old tomcat was rescued as a baby with his siblings Talia, Bonnie, and Arslan from the streets. Fortunately, there are people who take on this destiny and brought him to us. Here, the young tomcat shows curiosity and activity. A small bundle of energy, waiting for the perfect two-legged family. With certainty, he will grow into a sturdy and beautiful tomcat, providing his new home with plenty of energy, excitement, and joy for living. Even though Kemal came from the streets, he has adapted well to life in the cat room. Nevertheless, after a certain adjustment phase and in a very secure environment, he can be accustomed to being let out. His new home should definitely be rural. But even in a well-cat-friendly apartment with a secure balcony, Kemal will not be lacking anything. He gets along wonderfully with his fellow animals, so he should not have to do without the company of his kind in the new home. Therefore, a fellow animal may already be present in the new home, and if not, he will gladly bring a sibling as reinforcement. Of course, his travel arrangements have already been made, and he is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He already has an EU pet passport in his luggage, and after a positive assessment. Who will bring the golden tomcat a loving roommate into the home and offer him a loving home for life? Thank you, Birgit L., for giving him his beautiful name and helping him start a new life! As of: 27.01. This cat needs outdoor access.

Stand: 27.01.2024

About Kemal

What life with Kemal looks like

Kemal is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kemal, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kemal?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kemal on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kemal if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kemal already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kemal isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kemal and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
