Kenny

Belgian Malinois · Male · Adult · 3 years

Kenny – Malinois male dog seeks people for shared adventures Kenny is a Malinois male dog who brings many of the traits that Malinois dog lovers adore: he is intelligent, hardworking, people-oriented, and most of all, he wants to share his life with his people. At the animal shelter, Kenny is described as a very loving and obedient dog. He enjoys working with people and learns new things surprisingly quickly. Tricks and tasks come naturally to him, typical of a Malinois. Dogs of this breed often have a high learning capacity and thrive when both physically and mentally challenged. Even on the leash, Kenny shows no complications and runs along without a problem. With other dogs, he can also coexist after a suitable introduction. However, cats are not among his friends. Kenny is an active dog who loves movement and enjoys being on the go. Long walks, shared adventures, and games definitely count as his favorite activities. People who take great joy in doing a lot with their dog and keeping him mentally engaged would likely find a true partner in Kenny. One thing to note about Kenny: he is creative when it comes to finding new ways, which unfortunately includes overcoming fences or boundaries if they are not adequately secured. His future family should therefore be prepared and take appropriate safety measures. As a Malinois, Kenny likely brings many typical Malinois traits: intelligence, sensitivity, a work ethic, and a desire for close cooperation. At the same time, this means he is not a dog for casual companionship. Dogs like Kenny do not just want to be occupied—they want tasks, direction, and to be part of a team. For Kenny, we wish for active, ideally dog-experienced people who are eager to share life with a smart and eager-to-learn dog. If you give Kenny a chance, you will get a loyal adventure companion who wants to go through thick and thin with his person. For more about Kenny’s video, click here. If you are aware of what adopting a shelter dog entails and have fallen for the need, please contact the responsible mediator at SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very grateful for the provision of a foster home!

About Kenny

What life with Kenny looks like

Kenny is a adult belgian malinois dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
