Kiara

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Kiara is a very friendly female dog who is currently in our partner shelter Hogar de Asis and is waiting to be adopted by a wonderful family, a couple, or an individual with whom she can go through the future and be happy again. Yes, you read that right; when we say "again," it's because Kiara has had a good past. She was loved, accumulated many positive experiences, and thus developed a carefree and open nature. Her owner took a new job, and she was supposed to be in her mother's day care. However, her mother, due to her age, Kiara's size and strength, was no longer able to handle her, so she would have had to be alone for many hours a day. For a human-oriented and active female dog, that wouldn't have been a good state of affairs, and so her owner, with a heavy heart, parted ways with her "second daughter." Tere, our Spanish animal welfare colleague, promised to find her the best home in the world, and to fulfill this promise, we present Kiara to you. Kiara came to us at the animal shelter, and what can we say: it was as if she had never been anywhere else! Kiara immediately bonded with her new caretakers Tere and Josephine, knows the routines of shelter life, and is perfectly integrated into the large pack of dogs. She shares a run with another hunting dog, and it works out well, and the two form a harmonious "paw flat." In the mornings, while the runs are being cleaned, all the dogs can go out to the large run together, and here Kiara shows very good, compatible social behavior. In the shelter situation, she gets along well with all the other dogs and will even give way to dominant or provocative female dogs. When Tere or Josephine come to the run to play ball with the dogs, Kiara experiences the happiest Kiara in the world. Here, she can let her full joy in life run free, and it's simply a pleasure to watch her and engage with her. But Kiara can not only play well but also knows small commands like sit or give a paw. She also knows walks on a leash; every time Tere takes a collar in her hand, she gets very excited and looks forward to an exciting sniffing tour outside the shelter. We are sure that Kiara will win every heart in her new home after an initial adjustment phase! She is cheerful, cuddly, playful, eager to learn, and adaptable, so she can be integrated into a variety of dog-friendly lifestyles. We wish for Kiara hunting dog enthusiasts with a heart for rescue dogs who enjoy going through life with her and sniffing out new adventures together. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

DE·Show original

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Kiara

What life with Kiara looks like

Kiara is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kiara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
