Kiba

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 20 years

Kiba has confetti in her head. No, not really, of course. But since confetti is associated with joy and exuberance, merriment and enthusiasm, the word "confetti" fits Kiba perfectly. Besides the many colorful paper snippets in Kiba's head, there is still plenty of room for other beautiful things. For Kiba is also very clever and curious about everything and everyone. So wherever she appears, and whoever she meets, she only spreads joy. Kiba is playful and cuddly… oh, she is simply irresistible. Additionally, she is really very cute with her dark button eyes and the almost snow-white ermine-like fur. Kiba has really been lucky. Especially considering that the puppy was found on a very cold January day on the street. Kiba was only a few weeks old and her fate would have been sealed, had a kind animal lover not taken her in and brought her home. There, the tiny and still shy Kiba was welcomed by the "lady of the house," an imposing one-eyed white female German Shepherd. After a short time, both formed a close friendship. Even other, unfamiliar dogs were no problem for the little mouse. On the contrary, Kiba began to take an interest in the cats living in the household. She would tap her way faithfully behind them and invite them to play. Luna, the white female German Shepherd, the household cats, and Kiba's foster child have a lot of fun, but now it is high time that Kiba finds her own "forever home." In Kiba's new home, there should be another friendly dog living, preferably a small pack. Kiba loves other dogs more than anything. With a dog buddy by her side, Kiba would feel secure and safe. And her people love her anyway. With all the positive qualities and prerequisites that Kiba brings, one should consider in the new home that a young puppy still has a lot to learn. Walking on a leash or being clean are not something that are laid into a puppy's nature. Learning is part of everyday life and means constant practice. This, in turn, requires patience and loving, but consistent guidance. Training thus requires a certain amount of time, but above all, joy in mental stimulation with the new family member. We see Kiba in a family with slightly older children, who are guided in handling by their parents. Also, a couple or a single person with plenty of time can be Kiba's wonderful home. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Kiba

What life with Kiba looks like

Kiba is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kiba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
