Adopt Zoppa

Mixed Breed · Unknown

The gaze of the lovely Zoppa directly touches the heart and is heart-warming. If her gaze reaches someone with a big heart, then a dream for Zoppa could come true: a loving home where she is cared for, where she can arrive and relax. She has been searching for so long! Unfortunately, Zoppa also comes with one of those very sad life stories: she was found on a field on a Sunday, could hardly move, and was in a desolate, weakened, and starved condition. Upon arriving at the animal shelter, she didn't want anything to do with people (which wouldn't surprise a loving animal person!), didn't want to be touched, and she only wanted to be left alone. After some time, her leg could be X-rayed: she has an old fracture that healed on its own. She limps, but seems not to have any pain. She came to a pen with a very friendly male dog. Since then, Zoppa has made great progress. She is happy to see people. She lets herself be stroked, although not yet all over her body. Equipment still puts her into a panic. Zoppa is a very loving, friendly female dog who is still insecure due to a lack of attention, affection, time, positive experiences, and many sacrifices. If she wins the heart of a dog-experienced person who has time, a few expectations of Zoppa, and a lot of love and patience for this dear dog lady, then she would surely learn to trust quickly. A loving, self-assured dog in the new home who can "take her by the paw" would help her, but is not necessarily necessary. A loving, calm, and relaxed environment is important for her. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Zoppa

What life with Zoppa looks like

Zoppa is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zoppa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zoppa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zoppa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zoppa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zoppa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zoppa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zoppa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
