Kilani

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Kilani has found her forever home! Her story: The beautiful Kilani, with her black, glossy fur, is a true power mom. When we found Kilani with her two puppies, Ondra and Addy, she was in a very poor condition. But she lovingly cared for the two puppies and protected them from the dangers on the street. Fortunately, the three were rescued in time and came to the public shelter in Bistrita. Ondra has already been able to travel, and now we hope that Kilani and Addy will also soon find a place in the transport and be allowed to travel. At around 2 years old, Kilani has already passed the pubertal phase and appears very balanced and rather calm. She is medium-sized, measuring around 50-55 cm, and has a perfect size for all adventures. Since she has a shortened tail, she unfortunately cannot enter Switzerland. The loving female dog shows herself in the shelter as very friendly, open, cuddly, and very affectionate. She enjoys every moment of affection and could be stroked for hours. She is also compatible with her fellow animals. Kilani is likely a Labrador mix. She probably enjoys mental stimulation and physical as well as mental exertion. She might also be enthusiastic about dog sports like agility or mantrailing. Sniffing work is generally very popular. A visit to a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement is also recommended to give Kilani the best start in her new life with a human family and to learn the basics of dog ABC. In a dog training class, she can play with fellow puppies under supervision, gain positive experiences, and train with her human in a relaxed atmosphere. This not only makes for fun but also strengthens the bond between dog and human. Kilani will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in her new home. Of course, she will also bring her EU pet passport. For an adoption fee of 500 Euros and after a positive assessment, the sweet female dog would also be very happy with a foster placement. Many thanks, Christine M.-S.! You gave Kilani her beautiful name. As of: 26.05.

Vielen Dank Christine M.-S.! Du hat Kilani ihren hübschen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 26.05.2024

About Kilani

What life with Kilani looks like

Kilani is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kilani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kilani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kilani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kilani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kilani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kilani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kilani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
