adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Kimi has found her home! Her story: The little Kimi, a dream in white with a charming black-pink nose, and her siblings Flush, Fidelia, and Laila were found by a girl on a supermarket parking lot. The girl alerted the authorities, and the puppies were brought to the shelter. Fortunately, the entire sibling band found a home, and Flush and Kimi are currently enjoying visits at the Stray Nest in Rennertshofen. At around 5 months old, Kimi is still a true puppy and is expected to reach a medium size. The playful and friendly female dog gets along well with other dogs and loves to spend time with them. With people, she is super approachable, open, and loving, and she adores snuggling and cuddling. As a puppy, Kimi still has a lot to learn. House training, walking on a leash, and basic commands are at the top of her list. Patience and consistency are key, but with positive reinforcement and lots of treats, learning becomes pure fun! Also, leaving her alone needs to be practiced in small steps to avoid separation anxiety. After the puppy stage comes puberty – a phase that can cause a lot of chaos. During this time, Kimi may test her limits and forget what she has learned. With humor and a clear line, you will get through this phase together as a super team with great bonding. Ready to give this sweet puppy a home where she not only finds love and security but also physical and mental stimulation that matches her breed characteristics, which may only become apparent over time? She would also be happy in a foster home. She will come microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, together with her EU pet passport, to her new family. Many thanks to Luani, who gave Kimi her name and the chance at a happy future. Stand: 03.10.

Stand: 03.10.2025

About Kimi

What life with Kimi looks like

Kimi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kimi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kimi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kimi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kimi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kimi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kimi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kimi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
