Kimi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Basic vaccination + rabies—KIMI is looking for her forever home or a foster home. Kimi is a charming mixed-breed female dog (Croatian Shepherd) approximately 1.5 years old, standing about 45 cm tall at the shoulder and weighing around 15 kg. Her story begins sadly: Kimi was found in a garbage dump—frightened, shy, and in poor condition. For the past five months, she has been under our care and has developed wonderfully. Today, she’s a calm, cuddly, and loving dog who thoroughly enjoys being close to her people. She gets along exceptionally well with other dogs. We’re not yet sure how she’ll react to cats—though we’d be happy to test that if you’re interested. Kimi longs for a loving home with people who will give her time to continue building trust and show her just how wonderful a dog’s life can be. Important: Kimi is very agile and can climb over fences. Therefore, she’s looking for a home with a securely fenced garden or people who can always ensure her safety when she’s outdoors. Who will finally give this wonderful dog the family she so desperately deserves? Submit an inquiry for Kimi.

About Kimi

What life with Kimi looks like

Kimi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ankerhunde e.V. in Novi Grad.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kimi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kimi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ankerhunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kimi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kimi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ankerhunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kimi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kimi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ankerhunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kimi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
