Adopt Kira

Mixed Breed · Female

Size: At her current size, an assessment of her final size cannot yet be made. Location: Romania Kira is – a delicate puppy with big eyes and an even bigger heart. She should be frolicking, playing, snuggling, and learning how wonderful life can be. Instead, she is growing behind bars – in a public shelter. The cold environment, constant noise, and lack of affection are slowly dimming her little spirit. And yet, Kira does not give up: When you approach her pen, she begins to wave cautiously, looking at you expectantly – as if to ask, “Will you take me with you?” She is puppy-like in her curiosity, friendly, and compatible with other dogs. What she needs now is security, warmth, and people who can show her what a loving home looks like. With a little patience, Kira will surely become a loyal, joyful companion – full of life and love. Kira is desperately in need of a home so she does not have to grow up in the shelter. Each day there is a day lost from her childhood. Please give her the chance at a happy life. Kira waits – full of hope. Kira is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, not yet neutered, and has been checked by a veterinarian, and is in possession of a Eu-Home Animal ID. All our dogs travel with official trace papers and Paragraph 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases via a rapid test. The adoption fee is 500€ plus 30€ for the purchase of safety gear. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we base this on their outward appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). This assignment is made with the best of intentions and knowledge of the club and the involved veterinarians. However, these descriptions do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), as their reliable determination would only be possible through a DNA analysis. Furthermore, the behavioral and character description of each animal is based on careful observations by animal welfare workers at the intake facilities or by the respective foster homes. It should be noted that these assessments are based solely on the current local conditions in the intake facilities or foster homes.

About Kira

What life with Kira looks like

Kira is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
