Adopt Kittens

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 4 months

We manage a waiting list for people who want to adopt kittens. To be added to this list, please click 'Apply Now' and complete our pre-adoption questionnaire. You're not committing to an adoption by doing this, but if the cattery team thinks you're suitable, they will contact you when you are near the top of the list to view the next available litter. The majority of our litters will have been born/raised in a foster home before coming to the Sanctuary when they are 7 weeks old, to be viewed. Kittens cannot be reserved prior to a meeting and are rehomed from 8 weeks old. You must be able to take your kitten(s) home within 1 week of reserving them. Please read this next part very carefully. All our kittens are beautiful and need a loving home, regardless of their colour. We avoid people choosing them on the basis of their appearance. Please bear in mind that once we have a litter available for you to meet, you may be the first to see the litter or the last, i.e. other adopters may have chosen one or more by the time you meet them. They can live with children of all ages They can live with other young cats They can live with dogs They must have outdoor access once old enough. We DO NOT rehome kittens to be indoor only cats They will have been health checked by our vet before adoption They will be microchipped They will have their 1st vaccination before they go home. You will need to do the 2nd vaccination with your vet. They will NOT be neutered. They are rehomed on a neutering agreement. Therefore, they must remain indoors until this has been done by your vet, at your cost (typically when they are 4 months old). The adoption fees is £120 per kitten.

About Kittens

What life with Kittens looks like

Kittens is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kittens, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kittens?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kittens on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kittens if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kittens already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kittens isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kittens and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
