Kittens van Quinty

European Shorthair · Unknown · Kitten · 3 months

Quinty's mother would like to introduce her kittens, now 10 weeks old. They are a lovely pair that loves to run and play. However, they can be a bit overwhelmed by too much activity and should not be placed in a busy household. Brammetje is more independent than the other two and often explores on his own. Despite this, he is cautious and scared easily. He loves to eat and play! He has a strong hunting instinct for something like a toy mouse. Daantje is the most people-oriented of the three. She enjoys being petted and will curl up between your legs when she's frightened instead of hiding in a dark corner. She is the first to investigate new objects and sniff them out. She gets along well with Molletje, who is the playful one among the three. When it comes to playing and wrestling, Molletje always joins in. She climbs and scrambles more than anything else and has climbed the highest into the curtains. She's very interested in what's happening on TV and watches right next to you. She jumps onto your couch to sleep beside you. The order of the kittens matches the order of the photos.

NL·Show original

About Kittens van Quinty

What life with Kittens van Quinty looks like

Kittens van Quinty is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden in Leiden.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kittens van Quinty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kittens van Quinty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kittens van Quinty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kittens van Quinty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kittens van Quinty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kittens van Quinty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kittens van Quinty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
