Kiwi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

Kiwi had great luck to even get a chance at life. Her mother was found heavily pregnant by an animal-loving woman and at that time consisted only of skin and bones. The woman took the puppy in, cared for her and gave her a safe place in her garden. Shortly after she gave birth to six puppies. Unfortunately one of the siblings did not survive. For three other puppies loving families were already found in Romania. Only Kiwi and her brother Taco are still waiting to find their people for life. Kiwi is about 7 months old and will probably grow into a larger dog when fully grown. Her black-and-white fur and her bright amber eyes, which give her face a very special expression, are particularly beautiful. In addition, she has long legs with which she runs full of joy through the garden. Age-appropriately Kiwi is active, playful and curious about the world. She loves to romp with her brother and run for hours through the garden. At the same time she shows herself somewhat reserved towards strangers at first. However, her curiosity is usually greater than her uncertainty. If you give her some time, she quickly warms up and greets her people friendly and openly. Kiwi gets along well with other dogs and shows herself social and friendly. The cats that occasionally walk through the garden are also fascinating to her. Sometimes she is a bit too enthusiastic about them, but always friendly and without malicious intentions. Since Kiwi is currently in the process of developing from puppy to adult dog, she will soon reach puberty. During this time rules are often questioned and already learned things seem to be forgotten. Her future family should therefore have patience, humor and joy at joint educational work. We wish for Kiwi active people who like to discover the world with her and at the same time give her the security she needs to gain more confidence. Then from the pretty young dog will certainly become a wonderful companion for life. After a positive preliminary check and against a deposit fee, Kiwi can travel castrated, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-free and with an EU pet passport into her new life. Many thanks to the timeforliloki community. Thanks to you Kiwi got an identity and can finally go in search of her home. Status: 24.06.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Kiwi

What life with Kiwi looks like

Kiwi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiwi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiwi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiwi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiwi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kiwi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiwi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiwi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
