In January of 2013, we received a phone call about a mother dog who had given birth under a rock next to the river. When we arrived the river was rising, the mum was frantically barking and the pups were in real danger of being swept away. Kerry took her jacket off and scooped the puppies up and headed for the car, the mother dog followed but once nearer the car she froze and had to be carried. They were taken back to the shelter and one of those puppies was Kizzy. She is still at the shelter today and is a very happy and healthy girl who loves her walks.
