adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Klaus has found a home! 86150 Augsburg. Klaus can travel to his foster home in March! His story: Bistritta, Romania. The little Klaus with the beautiful big round eyes was found with his brother Scott near a river in the vicinity of Bistrita. Alone and abandoned, and slightly frightened, the two boys looked at us. We cannot say for sure what happened to the sweet Klaus and his brother in the past. One special thing the siblings bring with them, however, is a short coat of fur. We find that such a perceived flaw only makes our Klaus even more lovable; it is innate and does not bother them. Now the two are together in a wonderful foster home and waiting for their journey to forever happiness. Klaus is a bit shy at the beginning, but if given time and trust, he reveals a very friendly and affectionate personality. Klaus is so far compatible with other animals. He gets to know the whole range of animals: other dogs, cats, rabbits, and chickens. We wish a loving, calm, and patient family for Klaus, one that gives the five-month-old boy the time he needs to settle in. We are convinced that Klaus will make a wonderful personal match. Since Klaus is accustomed to life with many animals, his future could look like that. He is expected to reach a medium size when fully grown. A small garden would certainly please him, but it is not a must. His new family should be aware that Klaus still has to learn the whole puppy ABC. Living in a house is still new to him, and puberty is still ahead. Here he needs people who approach with love and patience, and maybe even attend some positive dog training classes with him and forgive him one or two mishaps. A dog training class can also be a great help at the beginning to strengthen the bond between dog and human. During puberty, he will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things he has learned. But eventually, this phase will also be over! Have you fallen in love with those sweet round eyes yet? Many thanks to Anne L.! You have given Klaus his name. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Klaus hat ein Zuhause gefunden! 86150 Aufsburg. Vielen Dank Anne L.! Du hast Klaus seinen Namen geschenkt.

About Klaus

What life with Klaus looks like

Klaus is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Klaus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Klaus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Klaus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Klaus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Klaus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Klaus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Klaus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
