Kleszczyk

Mixed Breed · Male

Kleszczyk is a dog with a wonderful, friendly temperament who still believes in people despite difficult experiences. He ended up at the animal shelter in bad condition - injured, literally covered in ticks. Kleszczyk walks nicely on a leash, gladly goes on walks and easily gets along with other dogs. He is open, cheerful, sociable and values human contact. However, he doesn't like energetic chasing or persistent petting - such situations stress him out, then he withdraws and tries to move away. But with a calm approach and gentle touch, he really handles it well, also during grooming procedures. This is a dog who deserves a quiet, warm home - one that will understand his limits and give him time to trust. Kleszczyk doesn't need much - just love, gentleness and the presence of a person who won't try to force him to change. We dream that someone finally notices how special this lovely dog is. Maybe you will give him a chance for a new beginning?

PL·Show original

Kleszczyk to pies o cudownym, pogodnym usposobieniu, który mimo trudnych doświadczeń wciąż wierzy w człowieka. Trafił do schroniska w złym stanie – obolały, dosłownie pokryty kleszczami.

About Kleszczyk

What life with Kleszczyk looks like

Kleszczyk is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Czekadełko in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kleszczyk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kleszczyk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Czekadełko handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kleszczyk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kleszczyk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Czekadełko will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kleszczyk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kleszczyk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Czekadełko early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kleszczyk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
