Knapp og Lapp

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

"Hi everyone! You may have heard of Snipp and Snapp, but have you heard of us? Knapp og Lapp? Let us tell you: My name is Lapp, and this is Knapp. We were raised together out in a large cat colony in Knapstad. We are both playful and like to run around and come up with some fun. We love to cuddle in the cat tree after having played and ran around a lot. We also think that cat beds are very good to lie in - soft things in general, then we really enjoy ourselves. We get along very well with other cats. We are used to dogs, but of course, it is important that the dog likes cats. It can take a little time before we figure out that the dog is not dangerous or scary. Cows we are also used to, as we lived in a barn together with them. We also lived with a few rabbits on the farm, so we are actually used to several types of animals around us. For now, we are not entirely comfortable with being handled, but that will come. Lapp already thinks it's nice to be handled when he gets treats and we work on this every single day. We eat liquid treats from the hand, but with sudden movements, we can sometimes jump a bit. We have also pulled quite a few teeth, and we were missing some before, but apart from that, we are healthy and lively cats. We could probably live well with older and calm children who think it's fun to play with us, but who understand when we need some quiet, and what is too much. The very youngest might be a bit too much for us. With time and sessions, we also think we will become proper cuddly cats - maybe even so secure that we will want to sleep in the same bed as you and watch over you to make sure you are safe and well 😊 Lapp is quite curious and often wonders what you are doing, especially when there is food around. Knapp is a bit more cautious, but also curious about what is happening. We are both food happy, especially when it comes to wet food and liquid treats, such as Churu. Therefore, we hope you will treat us often to become friends with us. 😛 We wish for a safe and good home where we can eventually get the opportunity to go out, when we have become comfortable with the surroundings inside and our people."

About Knapp og Lapp

What life with Knapp og Lapp looks like

Knapp og Lapp is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Knapp og Lapp, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Knapp og Lapp?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Knapp og Lapp on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Knapp og Lapp if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Knapp og Lapp already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Knapp og Lapp isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Knapp og Lapp and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
