Adopt Knopf C

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Name Knopf Born around late June 2025 Gender male dog Breed mixed breed Size medium (Nov. 2025 approx. 35 cm) Height Jan. 26 approx. 50 cm foster home Knopf is still in the country with our Romanian animal welfare friends in Campulung. He can travel as soon as we find a foster home (preferably with adoption intentions) in the Mainz/Wiesbaden area. The age given here is often an estimate, as we don't always know the exact age. Other information, such as size, is subjective. I was found together with my sister Fluse by a lady on the roadside, and we were brought to the animal shelter. Here, I definitely don't want to spend my whole life, but rather with a loving family. I am very open with people, I enjoy being stroked extensively, and I love it when there's plenty of play. As a puppy, I still have a lot to learn, and there's so much new for me. I get along well with my sister – except when it comes to feeding. Then I show myself to be very dominant and won't let her touch the bowl, so we had to be separated. This behavior only happens during feeding because I have a huge appetite. Now I've introduced myself, and I hope that I've hit someone's heart and that they will give me a chance. My suitcases are packed, when can the journey start? What should my new home be like? Dog experience desirable but not necessary We are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give him a second chance at a responsible home. The animal shelter in Campulung is also supported by a charity. If you do not live in our catchment area, it is possible to adopt a Fellnase through Soul Dogs. If you are interested in this great dog, please fill out the Referral Form or call us at the phone number provided. Here are a few pictures. For enlargement, please click on an image.

About Knopf C

What life with Knopf C looks like

Knopf C is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Knopf C, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Knopf C?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Knopf C on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Knopf C if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Knopf C already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Knopf C isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Knopf C and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
