Koda

Female · Adult · 4 years

Koda is a curious and adventurous boy with a lot of charm. With Siberian husky and Alaskan malamute in him, he comes with both drive, curiosity and a great sense of discovery. As a social and forward boy, he likes a lot of attention and wants to be where it happens. Koda has previously lived together with the dog Snow and they work well together. He can therefore continue to live together with Snow in his new home, but can also thrive as a single dog or with another dog. Long walks, forest and field and new adventures are high on the list of things that are appreciated. The proximity to his human is also important, as well as to be able to participate in everyday life's small and big moments. With his lovely energy, curiosity and social personality, Koda is a boy who would like to discover the world together with his family. Koda is a curious and resourceful boy with a lot of his own personality. He likes to investigate what's going on and can sometimes come up with his own little pranks. Therefore, he is best suited for someone who appreciates his clever side and who can offer a safe and secure environment. Koda has a lot of hunting desire and therefore thrives best in a home without cats, rabbits or other smaller animals. He still needs some help along the way to become house trained and has not yet really learned to be alone at home. The loneliness training therefore needs to be done calmly and step by step, based on his needs. At dog meetings, Koda can become a bit eager and sometimes bark. With security, patience and understanding, he will have good opportunities to develop further. Koda is looking for an active and social home where he can be an obvious part of the family and would like to follow most things. He would thrive best with someone who likes to be outdoors and who likes to spend a lot of time in the forest and field. Long walks, discovery trips and different activities together with his human fit him well. Koda likes a lot of attention and appreciates being close and participating in everyday life. At the same time, he needs a safe and clear person who can give him the guidance he needs and help him to come to rest when needed. He would do well to use both his body and his head and have the opportunity to use his energy in positive ways. Koda is simply a social, curious and charming boy who is looking for someone to share both everyday life and adventure with. Answer the questions below to get an indication of how your everyday life and your plans match a dog's needs. This helps both you and us to find the right match and give the dog a safe home. About Koda

What life with Koda looks like

Koda is a large adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Koda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Koda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Koda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Koda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Koda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Koda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Koda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
