Kodi

Male · Young · 1 year

Kodi is a very young dog, and his potential as a wonderful companion is evident. He is a medium-sized, tan mixed breed dog who immediately wins hearts with his openness and cheerful spirit. He is a wonderful, young dog - cute, sweet, and always ready for a pat. From the first meeting he greeted us joyfully - he offered himself for petting and easily put his head in the hands. On walks, he behaved as if we had known each other forever - curious, affectionate, joyful, full of life. He loves exploring and takes advantage of every moment to discover the world, and since he is a very young pup, everything fascinates him, so everything requires careful chewing. Sometimes he can pull when something fascinates him, but he quickly returns to contact with the caregiver, responds to calls. Kodi is a very affectionate and sensitive dog - he likes to cuddle and seeks closeness, he is cheerful and full of positive energy. When he is scared or something worries him, he immediately seeks support from a person. He is rather friendly towards other dogs, it's hard for him to resist approaching them, but his youthful enthusiasm can be tiring for some dogs, calm behavior in interactions with dogs will require further work after adoption. We don't know his relationship with other pets, including cats. The extended stay in the animal shelter is unfortunately starting to overwhelm and frustrate Kodie. When emotions take over, it's hard for him to calm down. We are looking for active people who like walks and discovering the world together; someone who has time, patience, and willingness to work with a puppy and sees value in such work; a caregiver who will provide him with a calm, predictable environment, teach him to calm down, and set boundaries for him. I do not recommend Kodie for a home with small children, or a home that is busy and often receives guests. In the adoption process, we recommend a pre-adoption visit to check how Kodi would find himself in the home and the potential walking area. If Kodi were to go to a home where there is already another pet, it will be necessary to introduce him to the resident.

About Kodi

What life with Kodi looks like

Kodi is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kodi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kodi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kodi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kodi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kodi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kodi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kodi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
