Adopt Koksi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Primary vaccination + Rabies. Our Koksi is looking for his big happiness. Koksi is a friendly and open dog who has been on foster care since January 24, 2026, in Frechen, 50226. His loyal gaze convinces everyone around him. He is very calm, affectionate, and likes to be close to people. Koksi weighs about 13 kilograms and is 45 centimeters tall. His age is estimated at 1.5 years. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He particularly enjoys cuddles and walks. During walks, he walks perfectly on the leash and always looks for his owner. He gets along well with adults and children and has no problem meeting new people. He is very cautious, insecure, and tense towards other dogs. He does not want any direct dog contact! Nevertheless, he remains obedient next to someone and does not bark or pull. He is looking for a home as a single prince. He previously lived with a female dog (probably his mother). Koksi has already met cats and finds them very interesting (in a positive way). During walks, he has seen horses. He showed no special behavior. They were looked at briefly and that was it. In new situations, he is a bit cautious but still curious and easily guided. He is housebroken and has no problem if someone sleeps a little longer. He learns quickly and is motivated when working with him calmly and consistently. Koksi is looking for a home where he gets enough time to settle in, as well as loving people who are patient and willing to work with him. Koksi is heartworm positive, he has no symptoms, the tablet treatment has already taken place in Bosnia. He now only needs a spot-on monthly. These will be provided. Koksi is looking forward to visits, feel free to contact the Ankerhunde Team. Inquiry for Koksi Become a godparent for Koksi.

About Koksi

What life with Koksi looks like

Koksi is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ankerhunde e.V. in Novi Grad.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Koksi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Koksi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ankerhunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Koksi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Koksi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ankerhunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Koksi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Koksi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ankerhunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Koksi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
