Koksik

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, my name is Koksik. I am an American Staffordshire Terrier, born on April 3rd, 2024. Although I have large dimensions, inside I am still a big child learning the world and needing a wise guide. I was taken by TOZ inspectors due to inappropriate living conditions and lack of proper care. It is important to know that dogs like me are not "difficult by nature" - it is the lack of knowledge, time and responsibility from humans that can cause problems. I am a very active, strong and intelligent dog. I have huge reserves of energy, I need movement, work with a person and clearly defined rules. In the right hands I am a wonderful, devoted and good dog. In irresponsible ones, I can become a challenge that is hard to handle. That is why it is so important for my future caregiver to have experience, awareness of the breed's needs and be ready for consistent work. An American Staffordshire Terrier is not a dog "for the couch" without involvement. It is a dog for people who want to build a relationship, train, teach and dedicate time. In return I give enormous loyalty, attachment and a heart bigger than my muscles. I have current vaccinations, I am dewormed and microchipped. A neutering procedure is coming up soon. I'm looking for a responsible, experienced home that understands that a breed is not just appearance but above all responsibility. If you know what it means to have conscious care for a dog like me and are looking for a loyal companion for joint work and an active life - maybe I'm waiting for you.

W zamian daję ogromną lojalność, przywiązanie i serce większe niż moje mięśnie.Posiadam aktualne szczepienia, jestem odrobaczony oraz zaczipowany. W najbliższym czasie czeka mnie zabieg kastracji.

About Koksik

What life with Koksik looks like

Koksik is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Koksik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Koksik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Koksik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Koksik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Koksik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Koksik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Koksik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
