Adopt Kola

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

This young Boxer-Cane Corso mix, aged 6 months, is looking for his new family. Like all puppies, he is lively, very playful, and particularly affectionate. He is not yet house-trained and still has a lot to learn. He struggles with being alone and tends to bark when left alone. Therefore, basic training will need to be addressed with him. He will also need to learn to channel his energy and be given enough physical and mental exercise to better manage his excitement. He gets along with other animals of the same species, though he can sometimes be fearful. He has already lived with cats and children, but he can be abrupt in his interactions due to his young age and tendency to jump. We are looking for Kola a family that can commit enough time to invest in his education and socialization. His future family must be aware that he will grow into a large dog and should research the characteristics of the Boxer and Cane Corso breeds, understanding the specific needs for welcoming and educating a puppy. Kola will also need a clear and consistent framework as well as a stable living environment, as he tends to test boundaries. 📞 Interested in Kola? About Kola

What life with Kola looks like

Kola is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SPA Valais in Uvrier.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Valais handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Valais will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Valais early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
