Adopt Konsta

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Konsta is a curious, active and affectionate boy looking for a home with either older children or no children. He can live with other cats. Konsta wishes to have access to good and safe outdoor opportunities. I was delivered to the veterinarian by a kind neighbor since my owner unfortunately could not take care of me anymore. Now I am, a curious, active and charming boy, on the search for my forever home. In the foster home I have really started to enjoy life, and I love sitting by the window watching the birds outside. Several times a day I get my famous "zoomies" where I run around the apartment full of energy. I am an affectionate boy, but a bit on my own terms. When I want affection, I become very contact-seeking and sweet. I can sit a little in the corner, but I often prefer to lie next to you on the couch or bed. I also like to be scratched on my tummy, and fur is just nice - because I love to be cuddled. Play is important for me. I am especially fond of balls and feather toys, and play sessions are often short and intense before I decide to take a break. Sometimes I can get a little eager and use a claw or a small bite, but it's never hard or aggressive. I also enjoy watching "cat TV" if something exciting moves on the screen. I am very fond of food, especially wet food, and I actually eat most of it. Therefore, you should make sure that trash and dishes are not left out, because it's interesting to investigate! When we have visitors, I can be a bit cautious at first, but curiosity usually takes over after a while, and then I come forward to greet. Otherwise I am a safe cat, even though the vacuum cleaner is not my favorite. The foster home thinks I would thrive best in a home without very young children, preferably with a bit older children (12+) and adults who understand that affection must happen on my terms. I can also thrive with another cat or a dog friend since I can get a bit restless alone. I closely watch the balcony door and look forward to exploring what is outside the door. All in all I am a kind, fun and charming boy who will bring lots of joy to my new home. Maybe it's with you, the one reading this? Konsta is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. The adoption fee is 2500,-.

About Konsta

What life with Konsta looks like

Konsta is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo in Oslo.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Konsta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Konsta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Konsta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Konsta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Konsta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Konsta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Konsta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
