Kortez

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Kortez is a young male born in 2023, of medium size, weighing around 23 kg. He has an impressive black and tan coat and charming floppy ears that add to his unique charm. He is friendly towards people - he likes to make contact and is curious about the world. At the same time, he is still a bit unruly and full of energy, so he will need caregivers who set clear rules for him and consistently guide him through further learning. Kortez has great potential, but requires proper upbringing, patience and commitment. We are looking for a guardian aware of the needs of a young dog, who can give him love, but also regular walks, activity and work on good habits. With proper guidance, Kortez will surely repay with loyalty and become a wonderful companion. At this time, his attitude towards other dogs is not yet known.

PL·Show original

Kortez to młody samiec urodzony 2023, średniej wielkości, o wadze ok. 23 kg.

About Kortez

What life with Kortez looks like

Kortez is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kortez, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kortez?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kortez on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kortez if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kortez already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kortez isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kortez and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
