My name is Kosmas. Once we were four - me and my three brothers. We grew up together, always together. Until one day some people noticed them first... and took them to their new home. And I was left behind. I didn't know why. I didn't know what I was doing wrong. Maybe because I was the most frightened of all. The most hesitant. The one who took a step back, instead of forward. Yet, I always wanted hugs. I always wanted affection - just in my own, quiet way. Maybe that confused some people. Maybe they didn't have the patience to wait. So I stayed here. And here I learn every day to trust again. To not be scared by sudden movements. Because... maybe once these movements hurt me. But now I try to remember that there are hands that only want to do good. I love the other dogs very much. I watch them, follow them, copy them. I see how brave and social they are, I see how happily they jump into hugs - and I try, little by little, step by step, to become like them. And somewhere inside me I hope. I hope that someone will stand a little more beside me. Someone who will give me time, space, and a chance to show him who I really am. Because, you know... I am also a great dog. I just need someone who can see it. Our sweet Kosmas is adopted only within Attica, with an adoption contract and microchip.

Με λένε Κοσμά. Κάποτε ήμασταν τέσσερις — εγώ και τα τρία μου αδέρφια. Μεγαλώσαμε αγκαλιά, πάντα μαζί Ώσπου μια μέρα κάποιοι άνθρωποι τα πρόσεξαν πρώτα… και τα πήραν στο νέο τους σπίτι.. Κι εγώ έμεινα πίσω. Δεν ήξερα γιατί. Δεν ήξερα τι δεν έκανα σωστά. Ίσως γιατί ήμουν το πιο φοβισμένο από όλα. Το πιο διστακτικό. Αυτό που έκανε ένα βήμα πίσω, αντί για μπροστά. Κι όμως, πάντα ήθελα αγκαλιές. Πάντα ήθελα χάδια — απλώς με έναν δικό μου, ήσυχο ρυθμό. Ίσως αυτό να μπέρδεψε κάποιους. Ίσως να μην είχαν τη διάθεση να περιμένουν. Έτσι έμεινα εδώ. Κι εδώ μαθαίνω κάθε μέρα να εμπιστεύομαι ξανά. Να μην τρομάζω στις απότομες κινήσεις. Γιατί… ίσως κάποτε αυτές οι κινήσεις με πόνεσαν. Μα τώρα προσπαθώ να θυμηθώ ότι υπάρχουν και χέρια που μόνο καλό θέλουν να κάνουν. Αγαπώ πολύ τα άλλα σκυλιά. Τα παρατηρώ, τα ακολουθώ, τα αντιγράφω. Βλέπω πόσο τολμηρά και κοινωνικά είναι, βλέπω πώς πέφτουν με χαρά στις αγκαλιές — κι εγώ προσπαθώ, λίγο λίγο, βήμα βήμα, να γίνω σαν κι αυτά. Και κάπου μέσα μου ελπίζω. Ελπίζω ότι θα βρεθεί ένας άνθρωπος που θα σταθεί λίγο παραπάνω δίπλα μου. Που θα μου δώσει χρόνο, χώρο, και μια ευκαιρία να του δείξω ποιος είμαι στ’ αλήθεια.
