adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Krabat has found a home! His story: Krabat is approximately three months old and was found with his 8 siblings by dog catchers from a Roma neighborhood. He and his siblings are now in safety and receiving medical care. Now, like his siblings, the little one is searching for a home. The handsome male dog with a dark snout and light paws makes everyone's heart skip a beat. The start of life for the little guy was certainly not easy, but he never gave up hope for a better life. He is a true fighter, initially a bit shy but then quickly warming up and curiously exploring his surroundings. Krabat is still a puppy, so we wish for a loving family that will patiently teach him the puppy lessons. A positively working dog training class offers a good opportunity for the little rascal to learn and play together with his fellow animals. Unfortunately, it is not possible at this age, as we know, puberty follows – which can often be challenging. The hormone chaos turns the little one's life upside down. He may "forget" some things you've carefully learned and built together. Sometimes his ears also go on a "vacation." Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to consistently – but lovingly – train. Good news: This phase also passes! Krabat travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to his new home. The little guy will also be happy to stay in a foster home. Would you give this handsome boy a home? Many thanks, Alexandra! You gave Krabat his name! Many thanks, Steffi S.! You support Krabat with a monthly sponsorship! As of: 03.06.

Vielen Dank Alexandra! Du hast Krabat seinen Namen geschenkt! Vielen Dank Steffi S.! Du unterstützt Krabat mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! About Krabat

What life with Krabat looks like

Krabat is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Krabat, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Krabat?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Krabat on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Krabat if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Krabat already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Krabat isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Krabat and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
