Adopt Krakers

Male · Senior · 10 years

In Kraker's eyes, the curiosity of the world and a huge desire to be close to people is still visible. The beginning at the animal shelter was not easy for him. He spent many weeks in an infectious disease hospital, where he was treated for a persistent cough. It was a difficult time, full of uncertainty and loneliness. When he finally left the hospital and was transferred to geriatrics, he was both shy and a bit stunned by the new reality. During the first walks, he wanted to run ahead, but after a while he would stop and look around, as if learning the world all over again. It was also visible some uncertainty with the leash. We don't know what his past was like or if he ever had a real home. One thing is certain, Krakers is a very positive dog. He always enjoys when someone comes to his kennel. He politely allows the leash to be put on and joyfully goes for a walk. It's a special time for him, lots of sniffing, observing the world, and especially cuddling, which gives him pleasure. Krakers is a good, loved dog who really needs human contact. In the kennel, he can bark and cry, calling out because loneliness is difficult for him. We are looking for a quiet, warm home for him, where he will be able to feel safe and spend his senior years by someone's side who will show him what real care and love are. He is full of energy and is an active senior. Maybe it's your home that is waiting for Kraker?

W oczach Krakersa wciąż widać ciekawość świata i ogromną chęć bycia blisko człowieka.

About Krakers

What life with Krakers looks like

Krakers is a small senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: History of persistent cough, needs treatment for separation anxiety

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Krakers, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Krakers?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Krakers on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Krakers if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Krakers already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Krakers isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Krakers and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
