Hun baasje hield zielsveel van zijn twee honden. Cooper en Kuch waren niet “gewoon” honden, ze waren zijn familie. Jaren geleden had hij hen zelf gered, maar het leven kan hard zijn. Door economische tegenslagen raakte hij alles kwijt: zijn huis, zijn werk, zijn zekerheid. Uiteindelijk bleef er niets meer over dan een tentje, achteraan op een verlaten terrein. Wat hij wél had, waren zijn honden. Tot het moment kwam waarop hij moest toegeven dat hij hen niet langer kon beschermen zoals hij wilde. Met pijn in zijn hart wachtte hij tot wij plaats hadden voor twee honden die nauwelijks kans maken op adoptie. Kuch is oud en heeft zware artrose, en kan hierdoor moeilijk stappen. Cooper wordt dan weer omwille van zijn uiterlijk zo vaak onterecht geweigerd. Vandaag zijn Cooper en Kuch bij ons. Twee honden die armoede gekend hebben, en nooit echte verzorging hebben gehad. Niet uit onwil, maar omdat hun baasje simpelweg niets had. Hij bedoelde het goed, maar kon hun leven niet beter maken. Hun baasje is inmiddels teruggekeerd naar zijn land. En wij dragen nu de zorg voor deze twee zieltjes. Kuch verblijft gelukkig in opvang, want op de gladde vloeren in de refugio kon hij zelfs niet rechtstaan. We zijn enorm dankbaar dat hij nu rust en zachtheid mag ervaren. En Cooper is een forse hond met een groot hart, die ondanks alles blijft hopen op een thuis. Een extra projectje erbij. maar vooral: twee zielen die het zó verdienen om eindelijk gezien te worden.
