adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! A little bit of luck must also be left for Kuno. Because at the moment, his entire life fits into a few square meters of concrete – a bowl, a sleeping spot, and that's it. For a young male dog like him, the world should be bigger, more colorful, full of adventures, and most importantly, not lonely… We got to meet the awesome male dogs in April and fell in love with the playful male dogs, with the cool storm cut and the perfect Irokesen cut 😅😍 Sadly, he sits by the cage when the other dogs are out in the run. He slumps in himself. As soon as he's out, he's a different dog and runs across the grass, enjoying his freedom. We wish he could finally get out of the cramped kennel. Although Kuno currently has nothing that could shape him, like close trusted people, inspirations, or security, he meets people with great friendliness, openness, and always with curiosity and playfulness. That alone says a lot about his wonderful nature. With his fellow animals, he gets along well. Only with larger male dogs, he decides based on sympathy. Kuno is about 1.5-2 years old, 60 cm tall, and weighs around 35 kg. His dense, slightly shaggy fur in warm brown and black tones not only needs regular care but also hopes for many cuddles. It's likely that Kuno is a Herdenschutzhund-Mix, possibly a Mioritic-Mix. In general, Herdenschutzhunde are not followers; they are thinkers, protectors, and independent characters. They love their people deeply and seriously but need clear guidance. What Kuno is looking for is not a spot on the sofa alone, but a place right in the middle of his two-leggeds' lives. Everyday things like walks, house training, welcoming guests, or relaxing at home are things he needs to learn. For him, we are looking for a more rural home, ideally with a fenced-in garden. People with knowledge about Herdenschutzhunde – especially since he is still in the throes of puberty – would make his start easier. After a positive trial, our Kuno wants to belong – not someday, but now. Who will give him a chance? Even a foster home could do so much good for him. Many thanks, Mel, for taking on his namesship. As of: 29.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Kuno

What life with Kuno looks like

Kuno is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kuno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kuno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kuno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kuno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kuno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kuno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kuno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
