Kuroszi

Male · Adult · 6 years

The story of this poor dog is truly shocking. Is it possible that in a big city, behind the wall, a puppy lived a dog who had never been on a walk? Unfortunately, it is possible... This happened to Kuros. When we met, his paws, soft as velvet, shone in the sun - as if they had never stepped on cobblestones. The emotions that accompanied him when he saw strangers or other dogs showed stress and a lack of such experiences in the past. From the collected information, it appears that Kuroszi spent his puppyhood in an apartment without access to the outside world, without walks or meetings with other dogs. It is understandable, therefore, that it was hard for him to find his way in the shelter's reality, so different from what he had known until then. Fortunately, time and a calm approach have allowed Kuroszi to make up for lost years. He has become accustomed not only to people, even those he had just met, but has also become a fan of dog meetups - he has a group of friends and his shelter love [Lumi], whom he jumps at the run and tries to impress with his newly acquired communication skills. Well, he still has some way to go to become a master, but for the progress he has made in this area, he certainly deserves a reward! And a chance. We are looking for someone who will give Kuros this chance and grant him a real home - one he has never had, which is caring, knowledgeable about dog needs, and understanding of dog language, but above all patient and ready to support the further successes of this sweetie. Kuroszi will repay with his unobtrusive company, morning smile and surely take full advantage of the opportunity given to him. He is a nice, still somewhat reserved dog who likes to lie on soft blankets on the bed during the day and is fascinated by occasional walks in the fields, although learning to walk on a leash is still ahead of him. Kuroszi would prefer to live in a house outside the city, with access to a garden. He may join a dog or female dog after prior meeting. I szansa. About Kuroszi

What life with Kuroszi looks like

Kuroszi is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires patient rehabilitation due to lack of socialization and outdoor experience from puppyhood

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kuroszi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kuroszi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kuroszi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kuroszi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kuroszi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kuroszi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kuroszi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
