adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Kuschel has found her home quickly! Her story: Kuschelmaus, a fitting name? The friendly Kuschel is on the lookout for loving people who would like to make her golden years sweet! Kuschel is a beautiful, reddish-brown female dog who has become a nuisance to her owners and thus found her way to the shelter. We don't know what Kuschel has experienced in her life and doubt that she has ever been truly loved and cared for. But we see that she is a determined and brave female dog, for whom now only the future counts. And we have promised to do everything we can to make her better, to find her dog-friendly people who will show her how wonderful life as a beloved house dog can be and take good care of her. When she arrived at the shelter, she also had a wound on her belly, which was medically treated. Kuschel is a medium-sized female dog, her shoulder height is about 40 cm. With her smooth, russet fur, her moist, black eyes, and her attentively pointed ears, she is a particularly pretty female dog, even though her snout is already slightly gray. She is estimated to be at least 10 years old, thus already a senior in the shelter, and longs for a secure place with patient and loving people. In dealing with people and other dogs, Kuschel is consistently very friendly and open. She has a calm and friendly nature and surely doesn't want to run a marathon anymore. Gentle walks, a comfortable spot, and lots of love would be just what the modest, older lady needs for her happiness. She will surely thrive in a loving environment and reward her rescuers with special devotion and loyalty. We would also be very happy about a foster home. Do you want to offer our dear Kuschel a last chance at a peaceful golden age? Then sign up! She can travel to her new home neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas with her EU pet passport. Stand: 16.05.

Stand: 16.05.2024

About Kuschel

What life with Kuschel looks like

Kuschel is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kuschel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kuschel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kuschel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kuschel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kuschel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kuschel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kuschel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
