Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

My name is Alaska. I am female, vaccinated, microchipped, and born around 2016. I have been waiting for a new home since July 2021. I am approximately 60 cm tall. My caretakers say about me: Alaska came to us with other dogs after going on the wrong path. At first, she was shy and fearful, but she has become a cautious cuddle bug. However, she needs the right sensitivity and patience at the beginning. She had never known a leash, let alone walks. She learned the leash and the walk, but currently, this is more of a mandatory program. She feels safest after getting used to her own property, is happy with her pack, and barely stands out in the house when she has her own space. She tries very hard to avoid messes. She likes to observe what goes on and is compatible with fellow animals. If you get to know her better, she will also be invited to play. Her fur needs care, and we have already practiced, and some brushing is okay for Alaska. She likes some spots more than others. Like with the fur care, Alaska needs to be gently introduced to all everyday situations, such as car rides, playgrounds, traffic, joggers. Alaska is a fearful dog. However, she has potential. She now greets familiar people and comes up to them, showing she wants to trust. We are looking for a quiet home for Alaska, preferably in the countryside. A house with a well-fenced garden would be ideal. If she is suitable for apartment living, one must be prepared that she still needs to learn this and it takes time. We assume appropriate safety measures. Children should be past the toddler age and be able to hold back. Who would like to see the white and gentle beauty shine again?

About Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211

What life with Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211 looks like

Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kuvaszmix Alaska &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
