Adopt KYGO

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 2 months

KYGO is a beautiful and kind young boy. He was born outdoors and was caught when he was about 9 weeks old. He was very scared then, but has made great progress and has become a proper cuddly cat. The foster home writes so nicely about him: "When KYGO came to me, he was so frightened that he hid in the sofa. After keeping himself very cautious and at a distance for a few weeks, he suddenly came out of his shell. Soon he got the nickname 'the little Kygoen aldrimett' because he always wants more cuddles! He loves to lie on my stomach, to be petted and to have his head rubbed. In addition, he likes to play (with toys by himself or with me with a fishing rod) and to watch everything happening outside the window. Although he is still afraid of visitors, I think he will thrive best in a household with more people because he is so happy to get cuddles." KYGO is a cat who either must get a home as an indoor cat with plenty of space to roam, or a home that lives in the countryside, with rural and quiet outdoor opportunities, where he can feel safe outside as well.

About KYGO

What life with KYGO looks like

KYGO is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen in Bergen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting KYGO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KYGO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KYGO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KYGO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KYGO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KYGO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen early rather than rehoming privately; they know KYGO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
